East Pelion's Most Beautiful Beaches

The eastern side of Pelion is a wild, beautiful stretch of coast with steep cliffs, green forests down to the sea, and quiet traditional villages along the way.

The roads are narrow and winding through the mountains, and the drive can be slow ,but every turn opens up another amazing sea view.

The closest eastern beach to Rastoni in Pelion is Kalamaki Beach. Like most beaches on the eastern coast, access is down a set of steps, and once you get there you’ll find crystal-clear water and a built platform that makes it easy to swim even in the shallow areas.

Not far from there is Lambinou Beach, one we really like. There’s a small taverna right on the beach, so you can also eat there if you want to stay by the sea.

A little further north along the eastern coast will bring you to the beaches of Tsagarada Where you'll see one of the oldest plane trees in Greece and 3 beautiful beaches:  Mylopotamos, Fakistra, and Damouchari.

Mylopotamos is famous for its dramatic rocks and clear water, with moderate access via a staircase — still suitable for families.

Fakistra is more hidden and reached by a longer walk on a rough path, so it’s less ideal for small kids, but it’s a truly magical spot with a freshwater waterfall by the beach.

Damouchari is the easiest to reach and the most family-friendly, with a short walk from the village. It’s a quiet, charming bay with a tiny harbor, and parts of Mamma Mia! were filmed there.

The Costal Gems Of West & South Pelion

The western side of Pelion faces the Pagasetic Gulf, with calm seas, sunsets, and small villages by the water. It’s ideal for safe swimming and long, quiet evenings by the sea.

South Pelion is quieter and more open, with hidden coves and green hills.

Some nice stops along the way include Rivera Beach, a more organized beach spot with sunbeds on a wooden deck close to the water, restaurant, bar & sea sports.

Efisos, quiet and simple, great for an easy swim.

Lefokastro, a traditional seaside village with calm bays and a very local feel.

Chorto, a peaceful waterfront village perfect for slow evenings by the sea.

If you pass through Milina at sunset, we recommend stopping for a coffee, beer, or dinner by the water and enjoying one of the area’s most beautiful sunsets.

Trikeri Island - A tiny, car-free island with clear water and a very slow, simple vibe. You reach it by a short boat ride from Alogoporos.

The Mountain Villages Of Pelion

The mountain ridge of Milies, Vizitsa, Pinakates, and Agios Georgios sits high above the coast of Pelion, offering a string of traditional stone villages surrounded by chestnut forests, cobbled paths, and wide views over the sea. It’s a beautiful area for slow walks, village squares, and a more peaceful, authentic side of Pelion.
